Teaching and Mentoring Programs
I am committed to sharing my passion for the piano with students of all ages. I'm constantly inspired by the connections I've made throughout the years.
Dedicated to teaching young pianists motivated me to create a mentorship program during the summers. Partnering with Omaha music school Crash Bang Boom, the mentorship program explores curriculum, methods and strategies for beginning teachers. College students interested in teaching begin to study piano pedagogy and are eventually paired with students, who they teach under supervision, at Crash Bang Boom.
Teaching and sharing the art of collaborative piano, while providing opportunities to support student and community collaborations, is a joy. I am committed to enhancing the collaborative piano curriculum at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and have partnered with many schools, choirs and artistic organizations so students experience collaborative partnerships.
Under the umbrella of the Piano Mentorship Program, the inaugural Keyboard Summer Institute kicked off a week long program in the summer of 2024. A tremendous success, people of all ages and ranges of abilities came together to learn keyboard skills in gospel music, contemporary keyboard, jazz and music technology. We look forward to the summer of 2025 while continuing to build a supportive keyboard community invested in diverse styles and repertoire.
